Jets pick up LaRon Landry

Badly in need of safety help, the Jets finally found their man today, agreeing to terms with free agent LaRon Landry.
ESPN reports it's a one-year deal worth $4 million.
Landry, 27, was often injured these past two seasons with the Redskins, playing in only 17 games. He also visited New England this weekend, but there's talk the Patriots might have been scared off by his injury history.
The Jets were in dire need of help at the position with Reggie Nelson spurning them Sunday to stay with the Bengals, and Brodney Pool's signing with the Cowboys last week.
Landry recorded 48 tackles and 1.5 sacks in eight games this past season before an Achilles tendon injury he sustained in 2010 flared up, forcing him to finish the season on injured reserve. Landry missed the final seven games of the 2010 campaign with an Achilles injury.
The Redskins moved on from Landry by signing Brandon Meriweather to a deal last week. Meriweather was a player the Jets were also interested in, but he ultimately chose to go to the Redskins instead.
