What were Plaxico Burress' thoughts after playing his former team?

"I just wanted to win the game," said the wide receiver, who made three catches for 34 yards and had a 23-yard touchdown reception nullified by offensive pass interference. "It didn't matter who we were playing. We needed this game to get to the playoffs and it just so happened to be against my old team. We just didn't get it done today."

Any reason why Burress wasn't targeted much in the second half?

"They were just keeping a guy over the top," he said. "They weren't going to let me run down the middle of the football field, just forcing me inside. Those guys were playing coverage, playing heavy outside and funneling me to the safety. So they weren't going to let me get anything outside after I caught those first few passes. They were playing a lot of two-high safeties, just playing a lot of zone, just keeping everything in front of them."

What did Burress think of the pass-interference flag on him that nullified his 23-yard TD reception in the fourth quarter?

"They've been making that call more than ever this season," Burress said. "He made the call and I thought it was a bad call. But the guy from the back made it, not the ref in front of me. So that's how that goes."

Did Nick Mangold explain what happened on that botched fourth-quarter snap on which Mark Sanchez fumbled into the end zone and the Giants recovered for a touchback?

"I don't know, but it's my job to get the ball to him and I didn't," Mangold said. "So therefore it's my fault and I failed at it. It's obviously pretty disappointing, It's not something I tried to do and it's disappointing."

What did Sanchez say about it?

"Nick took the blame for it, but that's really on both of us," he said. "That can't happen, not in a crucial situation like that. We'll look at the film and see what happened. That was really too bad because we had a good opportunity to score. We ended up getting the ball right back and it keeps us in the game, but that could have helped us get the lead. We really let one go there on the goal line."

What was up with all the penalties?

"Ten penalties [for 95 yards] are ridiculous," Rex Ryan said. "We had some that were just 5-yard penalties, but those are huge. Again, that's where you have to give them credit and give Tom Coughlin credit. His team wasn't penalized nearly as much as our team was, and that's my responsibility."

Did Sanchez get checked for a concussion in the fourth quarter?

"They just came in to talk to me," he said. "I guess they have someone in the booth who calls down and says, 'He got hit in the head. Talk to him.' I was in the middle of talking to Schotty [offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer] about plays, so the doctor looked at me and asked, 'Are you OK?' I said, 'Yes, I'm fine.' He asked if I was dizzy and I said no. I guess, technically, that was a check."

What happened to Brodney Pool?

The safety was plowed over by Ahmad Bradshaw on his 14-yard touchdown run in the third quarter and suffered a migraine headache. "I was going back in and they called down from upstairs [to have him checked out]," Pool said. "So I had to go in the locker room and I was fine. I'm fine now."
