Jets Q&A: What happened to Nick Folk?

Do the Jets have to sign a new kicker because of Nick Folk's injury?
They just might have to after Folk strained his right quadriceps before Sunday's 28-23 win over the Jaguars. He's scheduled to get an MRI on Monday.
Folk said he felt fine before the game, even kicking a 60-yarder during warmups, but at some point during his usual pregame routine, he felt "a little pop" in his right quadriceps. When he attempted a kickoff before the game, he said "it just didn't feel right. I couldn't finish any of my swings, I couldn't get any power in my kicks."
That meant punter Ryan Quigley had to kick the Jets' extra points and field goals.
"Your mindset changes," said Quigley (4-for-4 on extra points), who hadn't placekicked since high school. "It's something that we've prepared for . . . because if Folk goes down, I go in; if I go down, Folk goes in. So it's just one of those things: Be up, be ready and help the team as much as you can."
Folk was healthy enough to hold the ball on the snaps, but that was it. Asked if he thinks he can play Thursday night against the Bills, he said: "I couldn't tell you."
Coach Todd Bowles left open the possibility of signing a new kicker in the next few days, but it depends on Folk's test results. "I'll know by [Monday],'' Bowles said.
What's Nick Mangold's status for Thursday's game?Right now, it's unclear. The center left the game with 4:33 to go in the second quarter because of his lingering neck injury. Mangold, who was inactive last week for only the fourth time in his career, said "nothing specific" happened Sunday, "it just didn't respond the way everyone hoped. It was gradual." As for the pain in his neck, he said: "It just didn't respond well."
Wesley Johnson, who started at center last week, replaced Mangold against the Jaguars.
Mangold isn't giving up hope that he'll be able to face the Bills. "I can't live that way," he said. "I'm very optimistic. I'm going to go back to work, and hopefully, things go better."
Will he need to undergo more tests? "No, no more tests," he said. "I just need to give it the tender love that it requires."
Any other injuries we should know about?
Starting right guard Willie Colon (knee) was inactive and replaced by Brian Winters. Bowles expects Colon to play Thursday . . . Cornerback Antonio Cromartie left the game with a thigh injury and did not return . . . Safety Calvin Pryor, who missed his second game because of a high ankle sprain, was replaced by Dion Bailey. Bailey later suffered an ankle injury, but its severity is unclear.
What's up with Bowles' clock management?Up 14-3 with 1:30 left in the first half and with the ball at their 15, the Jets called two runs by Chris Ivory that netted a yard. After a timeout by the Jaguars, Zac Stacy ran for 3 yards, and after another Jags timeout, the Jets punted from the 19. "I don't think there was much time on the clock," Bowles said. "We were backed up pretty good. I thought if we got something going on first down that we would try and open it up. We didn't get it going."
But Bowles' decision -- and Quigley's 31-yard punt -- gave Jacksonville the ball at the 50 with 26 seconds left, and it took only two plays and 12 seconds for the Jaguars to score on a 30-yard pass from Blake Bortles to Allen Hurns. Said Bowles: "We had some busted coverages, and that's unacceptable."
