The Jets have made a flurry of moves this offseason and could be in position to acquire yet another big name - thanks to an assist of sorts from the Patriots.

New England released linebacker Adalius Thomas Monday and the Jets have some interest in him, according to a source. Whether that manifests itself in a contract remains to be seen.

Thomas' release had been rumored for weeks, and once the Patriots made it official Monday, speculation began that he could be headed for a reunion with Rex Ryan and Bart Scott. Thomas played seven seasons with the Ravens before bolting to the Patriots, signing a five-year, $35-million deal in 2007.

If he were to sign with the Jets - they aren't hampered by the "Final Four" rules in this case because he was waived and his original contract runs through the 2010 season - that could signal an end to Bryan Thomas' tenure with the club.

The Jets signed former Dolphin Jason Taylor last week and already have Calvin Pace as their other starting linebacker.

In other news Monday, the Jets have signed 10 undrafted free agents, according to a league source. The biggest name is Michigan's Donovan Warren, a defensive back who left after his junior season because he thought he was projected to be taken in the first three rounds. Warren is the godson of Jets defensive line coach Mark Carrier.

Among those scheduled for tryouts at minicamp this weekend are Riverhead's Michael Owen (TE, Syracuse) and Maspeth's Jesse Rack (TE, Buffalo).
