FLORHAM PARK, N.J. - Revis Island could be occupied by one of the NFL's best wide receivers on Sunday.
Rex Ryan indicated Wednesday that Pro Bowl cornerback Darrelle Revis likely will spend most of his afternoon chasing wide receiver Calvin Johnson around Ford Field. Antonio Cromartie could see time on Johnson as well, but the heavy lifting is all on Revis.
"He will generally be lined up on him," Ryan said. "They'll be times when he's not, but he'll generally be lined up on Calvin Johnson."
That's perfectly fine with Revis, who's champing at the bit to get a crack at the guy who's 10th in the NFL in receiving yards with 538 and has eight receiving touchdowns to tie him for the second-most in the league.
"I would love to go up against Calvin," Revis said. "I mean, that's what me and Cro do here, is just cover these guys the best way we can."
Cotchery chides himself
Jerricho Cotchery had a few sparring sessions with himself over those three dropped passes he had Sunday. "I always beat myself up," the wideout said. "That's how I overcome things and how I prepare for the next time around. That helps me work harder in practice and things I need to fix. So, I beat myself up in the proper manner."
Extra points
Ryan on the Titans' signing of Randy Moss: "As I've said many times before, Randy Moss is one of the premier vertical threats in the game. Tennessee acquired a great football player." . . . LB David Harris didn't practice after tweaking his back while weightlifting Wednesday.
