Jets sign LB Bryant, RB Griffin to practice squad

According to Rex Ryan, the Jets have “definite” plans for their two vacant active roster spots.
But in the meantime, the team has added two players – linebacker D.J. Bryant (James Madison) and RB John Griffin – to the practice squad.
Jets fans likely will remember Griffin from training camp. He was signed as a reserve/future free agent in January and waived by the team in August. The 5-11, 208-pound running back was signed as an undrafted free agent by Cincinnati in July 2011 and waived two months later. During his senior year at UMass, Griffin rushed for 843 yards and five touchdowns on 168 carries.
Bryant entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with Houston in May and played in four preseason games before being waived in August. The 6-3, 248-pound linebacker has spent time on the Bucs and Colts’ practice squads this season (He was released by Indy on Oct. 18. In four seasons at James Madison, Bryant recorded 118 tackles, including 27.5 for a loss, and 12.5 sacks.
