BOCA RATON, Fla. — Brandon Marshall may be the world’s biggest Ryan Fitzpatrick fan, but the wide receiver’s thoughts on the Jets quarterback situation are of little concern to his coach.

“My son wants certain things too that his dad says no to,” Todd Bowles said with a laugh during Tuesday’s AFC coaches breakfast at the NFL owners meeting. “It really doesn’t matter.”

Marshall was a staunch Fitzpatrick supporter last season when the Jets finished 10-6. And now that the team and the veteran signal-caller have reached a stalemate in contract talks, Marshall has repeatedly made his QB preference clear.

“What I do know is, everyone in the building feels the same way about Fitz,” the six-time Pro Bowler said in a recent phone interview with Newsday. “We all love Fitz.”

That may be true, but the Jets won’t let emotions — or Marshall’s opinions — dictate their course of action.

“Honestly, I love Brandon to death and he’s a good player,” Bowles said. “That’s all I can tell you. He doesn’t factor in making the decisions on this team.”
