CORTLAND – On a beautiful sunny day, the Jets bid farewell to the SUNY Cortland practice field.

They held their final training camp practice in upstate New York Thursday – a session that featured plenty of Wildcat action.

Although I can’t tell you the Wildcat breakdowns, I can share the final stats of the day: Sanchez finished today’s practice 5-for-6 in 11-on-11s and no “sacks” or interceptions.

It was a rather rough day for Tim Tebow, however. The Jets backup quarterback/punt protector/Wildcat extraordinaire went 2-for-10 with four sacks (all by the second-team defense) and threw an interception to cornerback Kyle Wilson.

On one series, Tebow was sacked by defensive lineman Marcus Dixon and linebacker Josh Mauga, before linebacker Garrett McIntyre strip-sacked him. Despite his struggles in Thursday’s team drills, Tebow said he’s felt more comfortable with every passing rep.

Rex Ryan has seen an improvement in Tebow’s practice play, citing the backup QB’s increased completion percentage at proof. According to the Jets coach, Tebow’s completion percentage started a “little bit below” 50 percent and has risen to about 65 percent. (Those stats include 7-on-7 drills, Ryan said.)

The last time the Jets practiced the Wildcat in front of the media, they were in full pads. Today, they wore shells and shorts. Thursday’s session was closed to the public – just as it was on the first day of Wildcat reps.
