Chaz Schilens has agreed to be a Jet.

The Jets have come to terms with the free agent wide receiver, giving Mark Sanchez a big, speedy target to throw to. Exact terms of the deal weren't immediately available.

Schilens, a 6-4, 225-pounder, caught 23 passes for 271 yards and had two touchdowns this past season with the Raiders. The 26-year-old was a bit injury-prone in four seasons in Oakland, recording seven touchdowns and 902 yards on 72 receptions.

With Plaxico Burress not expected back, the Jets needed another wideout to join a collection that includes Santonio Holmes, Jeremy Kerley and Patrick Turner. Schilens' familiarity with Jets new wide receivers coach, Sanjay Lal, likely played a role in the team's pursuit.

Lal worked with the Raiders from 2007 through this past season, serving as Oakland's wideout coach.
