Josh Thomas says he didn't get the attention he needed from Jets

All Josh Thomas wanted was a little attention.
The cornerback, who was cut by the Jets on Tuesday and signed off waivers by the Lions the next day, told Detroit media he "wasn't given the attention necessary'' by the Jets' coaching staff.
"I was there as a player and wanting and desiring some feedback that wasn't given,'' he said Thursday. " . . . It could be the way that the Jets operate.''
Jets secondary coach Tim McDonald painted a much different picture of Thomas' tenure with the team, however. "I'm sorry that he feels that way, but it was hard to get things out of him in the classroom,'' McDonald said in a one-on-one interview with Newsday. "He has some talent . . . [But] our system was a bit of a struggle for him. I think he fits better in a system like Detroit. It's a little less complicated. From what I've seen on film, it's more zone-type schemes so it's a better fit for him.''
The Jets signed Thomas in October but he was active for only one game. He was released after his iPad, which contained his playbook, and his passport were stolen from his rental car. He told Lions media that the car was parked at an extended stay hotel in Parsippany, New Jersey, and that his wife's anniversary gift also was taken. He estimated he lost about $12,000 worth of items and said he'll have to pay back the Jets for the team-issued equipment.

Willie Colon said he was fined for his role in Sunday's brawl with the Titans. He didn't disclose the amount but said, "It was enough.'' . . . Percy Harvin (ankle), Muhammad Wilkerson (turf toe), Jaiquawn Jarrett (shoulder) and Saalim Hakim (quadriceps) were limited.
