FLORHAM PARK, N.J. – Jets rookie tight end Kenyon Sadiq underwent a hernia procedure recently, but Aaron Glenn expects the first-round pick to be back in training camp.

“Sadiq had a minor procedure,” Glenn said before the Jets held an OTA practice on Thursday. “[It’s] something that he’s been dealing with — and we knew about — going into his last year of college, and he was dealing with during rookie minicamp.

“We wanted to make sure he got it done right after rookie minicamp, so he'll be ready to go during training camp.”

The Jets selected Sadiq with the No. 16 pick in the draft, adding to a tight end room that features Mason Taylor, Lindenhurst’s Jeremy Ruckert and Jelani Woods.

Sadiq caught 51 passes for 560 yards and eight touchdowns last season at Oregon, earning second-team All-American honors. He impressed at the NFL Combine, running a 4.39-second 40-yard dash. It was the fastest time ever for a tight end at the Combine.

Glenn also announced that kicker Cade York will not practice this week with a groin issue. York is one of three players competing for the Jets’ kicking job. They signed veteran Younghoe Koo on Thursday and already had former German League kicker Lenny Krieg on the roster.
