FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- Jeremy Kerley said his left knee still is tender and sore, but he expects to be on the field against the Redskins on Sunday -- as both a punt returner and wide receiver.
"I'll be at 100 percent. Knee feels good, it's stable, so I'll be ready," he said after Friday's practice.
Jets coach Rex Ryan confirmed that Kerley will be in the slot and returning punts for the Jets, saying: "I think everybody is basically going to be back in their similar roles that they had before they were injured."
Kerley, who suffered the knee injury in the Jets' Week 10 loss to New England, practiced for the third straight day. Though there's still some soreness, he isn't worried.
"Sunday's still a long time away," said Kerley, who is listed as probable on the injury report. "So hopefully we can get some more treatments, more time off it, it'll be all right. It's tough to sit on the sidelines and watch your teammates have success and compete how they do. That's just my motivation to get back in the training room, stay late, do extra."
DeVito out
Defensive tackle Mike DeVito officially was ruled out and will be replaced by Kenrick Ellis, Ryan said. DL Marcus Dixon (shoulder), OL Vlad Ducasse (knee), RB Shonn Greene (ribs), C Nick Mangold (ankle), LB Calvin Pace (groin), S Brodney Pool (knee), OL Matt Slauson (knee) and RB LaDainian Tomlinson (knee) are probable and "ready to roll," Ryan said. Redskins S LaRon Landry (groin) won't play Sunday.
Rex the cheerleader
Ryan kept his afternoon news conference short because he wanted to attend the North New Jersey Section 2, Group 2 championship football game between Summit, his son's high school, and Madison. He still was miffed that the game was being played at Kean University, not MetLife Stadium.
