Jets cornerback Kris Boyd was back in the team facility on Wednesday, a team source said, less than three weeks after being shot outside a Manhattan restaurant.

Boyd surprised his teammates by coming to the Jets practice facility. The source described it as a brief visit. ESPN reported that Boyd attended the Jets’ special teams meeting.

The 29-year-old Boyd was shot in the abdomen during a verbal altercation just after 2 a.m. on Nov. 16. He was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue, where he was treated and ultimately released. Last Wednesday, Boyd posted on his Instagram account that he was back in the hospital.

“I was released but had to return to the hospital due to my health issues,” Boyd wrote. “I love and appreciate every one of y’all dearly who has prayed/reached out even if I can’t get back to you.”

Two days later, Boyd posted, “I need you Father God. This one bout to be legendary.”

There had been no updates since then, but Boyd’s presence at the Jets facility was a positive sign.

New York police released surveillance photos of a man sought in the shooting. No arrests have been made.

The Jets signed Boyd in the offseason. He suffered a season-ending shoulder injury in August.
