LaDainian Tomlinson will retire -- but not as a Jet.

The San Diego Chargers will re-sign their former running back on Monday just before Tomlinson announces his retirement at a press conference tomorrow at Chargers Park. The announcement will be streamed live on at 11 a.m (PT).

LT's retirement seemed like a foregone conclusion, with the running back saying as recently as May that he is "95 percent" sure he would hang up his cleats.

He spent two seasons with the Jets, churning out 1,194 yards on 294 carries. He also had seven rushing touchdowns and two receiving TDs. One of the elder statesmen in the Jets locker room, Tomlinson not only was a vocal leader, but was a calming, influential presence as well.

But Tomlinson's best years, of course, were in San Diego -- evidenced by his league-record 28 rushing touchdowns in 2006, when he averaged 5.2 yards per carry.
A future Hall of Famer, Tomlinson finishes his career with 13,684 rushing yards, 4772 receiving yards, 145 rushing TDs and 17 receiving TDs in 170 games.

Tomlinson, the Chargers' first-round pick in 2011, turns 33 next week.
