Mark Sanchez: Adding Santonio Holmes doesn't change Jets offense

Mark Sanchez will have another weapon at his disposal on Monday, but he swears it'll be business as usual with Santonio Holmes in the lineup.

"He's an amazing talent, but we're not going to force anything to him," Sanchez said today. "We're going to let him work his way in."

Here's some other thoughts from the Jets QB today:

On how they'll use Holmes: "It'll be whenever we need him, whenever (Brian Schottenheimer) wants to put him in, we haven't really decided yet. We'll have plenty of stuff for him to do, we'll just mix him in to what we've been doing and we'll be ready to go."

On whether there's such a thing as too many weapons: "I don't think so. We could just run our same plays, put (Holmes) in there sometimes, put Braylon in there and switch it up, put J-Co in there. It's the same stuff, we're not really that much different, we just have one more really explosive player on the field. Who knows, he might take a hitch for 90 yards; that'd be awesome. If it's one catch a game, 10 catches, he knows he's here to help us win, and whatever that means, he'll do it."

On whether he's met with Holmes this week: "A little, talking some things through, going over some routes here and there. He looks sharp. His hands look as good as ever. He's just excited to be back and be a part of what we've got going."

On what it meant to have Holmes around the team, in meetings during his suspension: "He was working, he was encouraging guys, doing as much as he possibly could without breaking any rules. It was good to see him around the building, listening in to what was going on."

On Brett Favre:  "I'm excited to see Brett, but there's nothing really to get caught up in. He's a great quarterback, just like Brady, just like Manning. We're so focused on what we're doing there won't be any awe factor. I totally respect him as a player, but there won't be any time wasted worrying what Brett's doing."

On the Vikings defense: "It's imperative this week to keep two hands on the football because they're notorious for strip-sacks. They apply pressure up the middle, with both Williamses at tackle, and obviously Jared Allen on the edge. We'll try to keep them off-balance a little bit."
