Josh Mauga will be back with the Jets for 2013.

Mauga, a restricted free agent, was placed on injured reserve back in October after an MRI revealed he had a torn pectoral muscle.

His agent, Michael Hoffman, tweeted the news on Saturday: “Congrats to our client, Joshua Mauga on returning to the #nyjets.”

Last month, the Jets released veteran linebackers Bart Scott and Calvin Pace. Outside linebacker Bryan Thomas is not expected to return.

The Jets also extended a low-level tender to restricted free agent Jeff Cumberland, according to multiple outlets. 

The backup tight end, who caught 29 passes for 359 yards and three toucdowns in Dustin Keller's absence last season, will earn $1.32 million if he stays with the Jets in 2013. The Jets have seven days to match offers made by other teams, but will not receive a   and they have the right to match any contract offer from another team within seven days. They will not receive any compensatory draft picks if Cumberland signs elsewhere.
