Miguel Maysonet was hoping to find a home in Florham Park. But his stay with the Jets lasted only seven days.

The former Stony Brook star running back was released from the team's practice squad Tuesday. The Jets are the fifth NFL team for Maysonet, 23, who went undrafted in April. Since then he's spent time with the Eagles, Browns, Colts and Chargers.

Maysonet had just landed in Cincinnati last Monday for a workout with the Bengals when the Jets called to say they had an open spot for him on the practice squad. Instead of going to the Bengals' facility the next morning, he boarded a plane back to the tri-state area.

Maysonet, a runner-up for the Walter Payton Award as outstanding player in the Football Championship Subdivision, is the first Stony Brook player ever invited to the NFL combine.
