CORTLAND -- Brandon Moore will miss Saturday's Green & White scrimmage – but for a good reason.

The Jets right guard is leaving town Saturday had heading to for Canton to support former teammate Curtis Martin.

“That was a big year for him,” said Moore, who said he’s making the trip with former Jet guard Dave Szott. “I was a part of a good offensive line that year that helped him get that rushing title at a time when people were complaining that he was old and lost a step. I look back on that team with fond memories.

"When somebody asks you to come to the Hall of Fame, I think you go.”

Though he wasn’t sure, Moore said he excepts Kevin Mawae to go as well.

...Speaking of the Green & White scrimmage, Rex Ryan was asked why the game will be played on SUNY Cortland's turf stafium field rather than grass field they've been practicing on. The Jets coach quickly shot down the assumption that it was a move to accomodate the expected crowd for Tim Tebow. Despite the rash of injuries, Ryan sees no problem with his guys playing on turf.

"Will it be more accomodating to the fans? Absolutely, it will be," he said of the venue. "But if there was a greater chance of injury on this turf as compared to the grass, we would be on the grass. ...This turf, it's brand new, it's in great condition, it's soft. It's in great shape."
