New York City will host a Times Square pep rally on Thursday to cheer on the Jets.
Gang Green is just a win away from the Super Bowl. It’s preparing for Sunday’s AFC championship game against the Indianapolis Colts.
Mayor Michael Bloomberg and past Jets greats will join fans at the event.
The pep rally will be held on Broadway between 44th and 45th streets from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Coach Rex Ryan had mistakenly thought the playoffs were no longer an option after a loss to Atlanta almost a month ago.
The win over the Colts was further magnified by the losses of several teams that were ahead of the Jets in the playoff race. That suddenly put New York in control of its post-season destiny.
