Offensive guard passes on brother's wedding for Jets minicamp
FLORHAM PARK, N.J. - Keith Buckman had a decision to make: participate in his brother's wedding back in North Dakota or spend the weekend at the Jets' rookie minicamp.
"It was pretty easy," the undrafted free agent offensive guard said Saturday. "I told him and he understood. He's just as happy for me today as I am for him tonight . . . "
The 6-5, 321-pound Buckman was prepared to be a groomsman in his youngest brother Matthew's wedding. But when the Jets called to tell Buckman they wanted to sign him as an undrafted free agent, it was 'Sorry, little brother.'
"When we found out, he just said, 'Good luck,' " Buckman said. "He was happy for me.''
