Osi Umenyiora would like to continue his career as a Giant. But the once-dominant pass-rusher seems amenable to joining his in-state rival.

Umenyiora, who is in New Orleans to promote Super Bowl XVLIII on behalf of MetLife Stadium, mentioned the Jets and the Atlanta Falcons as possible landing spots next season.

“There’s a couple of teams my agent told me he will be contacting at a later time,” he told the New York Post, adding that he made it clear his preference is to return to the Giants.

As for the Jets, Umenyiora said: “Rex Ryan, when I was coming out of college [Troy University in Alabama] he was with Baltimore at the time and he came down to work me out at Troy, he came to Atlanta, just me and him. We had a pretty good time out there so I’ve always enjoyed him as a coach and as a person. That might be a good fit. Hopefully it will be with the Giants.’’

The soon-to-be free agent, who currently lives in Atlanta, also said the Falcons “might be interested,” but said his new agents, Tom Condon and Ben Dogra, haven’t talked to them yet.
