The "sky's the limit'' for the Jets offense from here on out, Percy Harvin said.

There may be only six games left in their season, but the Jets are re-energized coming off the bye week and determined to settle a score against Buffalo this Sunday.

The Bills (5-5) blew out the Jets, 43-23, at MetLife Stadium on Oct. 26. But despite their 2-8 record, the Jets believe they're a much better team now.

"I think we've improved each week,'' Harvin said Monday. "I think the sky's the limit once we get a chance to really, really get to work together, as far as chemistry, timing, things like that . . . You can see where we're going once we all start clicking.''

Their Week 8 loss to the Bills was their seventh defeat and Harvin's first game as a Jet following his mid-October trade from Seattle. That game also signaled the start of the Michael Vick Show.

Geno Smith was yanked in the first quarter after throwing three interceptions in six snaps. Vick lost two fumbles and threw an interception, but he completed 18 of 36 passes for 153 yards, gained 69 yards on eight carries and led the Jets to 23 points.

"You're always embarrassed when you turn the ball over three times,'' said Vick, who has started the last two games, including the 20-13 upset of the Steelers nine days ago. "When you have a chance to go out and do it right, you have to go out and do it right.''

Sunday is that chance.

Before his players departed for their four-day vacation last week, Rex Ryan explained the importance of "jumping on that fast-moving train'' as soon as they return to the facility. Even with no real chance of making the playoffs, there is still plenty to play for, he told them.

"Our guys were fresh, our guys were flying around,'' Ryan said of their first day back. "We had as good a practice as we've ever had coming off a bye. We'll see if that means anything. But I think it does.

"I think our guys are ready . . . We've got to play a zillion times better than the last time we played Buffalo. I think that's safe to say. But I think our guys are excited about the opportunity in front of them.''

Especially Harvin.

The speedy wide receiver had only a few days to immerse himself in the offense before he faced the Bills. He caught three passes for 22 yards, rushed four times for 28 yards and averaged 24 yards on six kickoff returns. But Harvin admitted he couldn't play as fast as he wanted to because he was thinking too much.

"It was real tough. I didn't want to look like I didn't know what was going on out there. This time, I'll be able to play much faster,'' said Harvin, whose versatility has been a welcome addition.

Harvin said it took him "about a week and a half'' to get comfortable with the Jets playbook. But after only three weeks, he said he's "way ahead'' of where he was. Asked what he'd be able to do with a whole offseason and training camp in the offense, he smiled.

"Honestly, each day I go home with a smile on my face,'' he said. "Just to be able to talk football, everybody's on one page, we're fixing the corrections . . . To see how the offense has grown, it only makes me chomp at the bit [thinking about] what we can do going forward.''
