It appears the Jets may soon be on their third special teams coordinator is as many years.

According to a report from FOXSports' Alex Marvez, Ben Kotwica is now the special teams coordinator for the Washington Redskins.

Kotwica was one of several coaches on Rex Ryan's staff whose contract recently expired. Though the Jets extended an offer, he also was granted permission to interview with other teams. In recent weeks, Kotwica met with his alma mater Army about its head-coaching vacancy -- but the job was given to former Georgia Southern coach Jeff Monken.

New Redskins head coach Jay Gruden interviewed Kotwica on Wednesday, The Washington Post reported.

After spending six seasons on the Jets' coaching staff, Kotwica replaced special teams coordinator Mike Westhhoff in Jan. 2013. Under Kotwica, the team ranked among the top 10 in kickoff-return yards and was 17th in kickoff coverage.
