The Jets are caught between a rock and a hard place when it comes to Tim Tebow.
It’s clear they want to trade the backup quarterback, but as of yet, no teams are willing to pull the trigger on a deal. And the Jets – who wasted two draft picks and $2.5 million to acquire Tebow from Denver last offseason – understandably want to get something back on their return.
Even if it means waiting until the summer.
A source confirmed to Newsday Monday that the seldom-used QB will participate in the team’s voluntary workouts at their Florham Park facility, beginning April 15 -- provided, he’s still on the roster.
Tebow, who led the Broncos to a playoff win in 2011 as a starter, completed just six passes for 32 yards and rushed for 102 on 32 carries as Mark Sanchez's backup last season.
In all, the Jets have five quarterbacks on their roster: Sanchez, Tebow, David Garrard, Greg McElroy and Matt Simms.
