As if the Browns offensive woes haven't been bad enough, they've lost several targets for Weeden due to injuries. Receiver Mohamed Massaquoi and tight end Alex Smith are both listed as out for Sunday's game against the Giants. Wide receiver Josh Cribbs, the NFL's all-time kickoff return touchdown leader (8), is probable but has been limited in practice this week due to a concussion.

It's no surprise the Jets, who are 31st in the NFL in kickoff average, are looking for an upgrade in the special-teams department.

But even with Mike Goodson returning to the practice field this week, the team is still searching for kick-return specialists. According to CBSSports.com's Jason La Canfora, the Jets worked out Josh Cribbs on Tuesday.

The ex-Browns KR/WR visited with the Jets in May, but wasn't fully healed from a meniscus tear. Cribbs visited several teams this offseason, including the Giants and Arizona.

“We had a nice visit with Joshua,” Jets general manager John Idzik said this summer. “We got to get the physical on him, so it was a very informative visit. I don’t think he's quite there yet. But he’s probably getting close."

The Jets' current kickoff returner, Clyde Gates, is averaging 19.8 yards on five attempts.
