Peyton Manning apparently has a short list ... and the Jets might not be on it.

The highly-coveted free agent quarterback is set to meet with the Broncos tonight, according to the Denver Post. The report also stated the soon-to-be 36-year-old has visits planned with the Cardinals and Dolphins, and that Manning was hopeful of finding his new team by Tuesday when free agency starts.

If that's true, that could mean the Jets -- despite their interest -- won't be landing Manning. One would think he would want to have a sit down with the Jets coaching staff and check out the facilities before making a decision to come here.

Of course, that would also mean the Jets would have some patching up to do with incumbent QB Mark Sanchez after their flirtation with Manning.

As usual, stay tuned ...
