Mark Sanchez’s injury status is as uncertain as the Jets’ quarterback competition.

The fifth-year veteran is listed as day-to-day with a bruised right shoulder joint, according to an ESPN report. He will not play in Thursday’s preseason finale against the Eagles.

Sanchez underwent an MRI Sunday, but the Jets offered no specifics about the severity of the injury, or details about his test results, when they announced on their team web site that Sanchez will skip this week's game.

Sanchez was injured in Saturday night’s game against the Giants, when defensive tackle Marvin Austin drilled him in the right shoulder after Sanchez threw a 23-yard completion to newest Jet Mohamed Massaquoi with 5:40 remaining in the fourth.

Team trainers tended to Sanchez on the field before he was led to the X-ray room.

He was scheduled to undergo an MRI Sunday, a source told Newsday, but the Jets didn't make mention of his test results in their release.
