Rex Ryan apparently had a sit down with his Pro Bowl cornerback.

ESPN and The Daily News are reporting Ryan met with Revis in South Florida over the weekend in an attempt to break the stalemate between the two sides. Still, no deal is imminent.

Revis, due $1 million in base salary this season, wants to be the league's highest paid cornerback, topping the $15.1 million of Oakland's Nnamdi Asomugha. His holdout has reached 36 days, and both sides have agreed not to discuss the talks publicly.

Asked on Saturday's conference call if he hoped a deal could be in place before they host the Ravens in the season opener Sept. 13, GM Mike Tannenbaum said: "We have a confidentiality agreement and I’m going to honor that and not comment on the negotiations."

Ryan, incidentally, was scheduled to be on the conference call initially, but was replaced by Tannenbaum instead.
