Revis a no-show at camp

Talk about deja vu.

Just last year, in this very same Central New York town, all the attention was focused on one thing minutes after the Jets rolled in for their first training camp away from Long Island in decades: a potential holdout.

Twelve months ago, it was Leon Washington. Today, it's all about Darrelle Revis.

The Pro Bowl cornerback skipped this morning's physical and conditioning test, leaving very little doubt he was going to report to training camp by the 5:30 p.m. deadline. Revis is now officially a holdout and could be ready to dig in for a while.

Due a base salary of $1 million this season, he wants to be the league's highest paid cornerback and believes he should make more than the $15.1 million the Raiders' Nnamdi Asomugha collects per season.

"We waited 'til the last possible moment with hopes of getting a deal done," Revis' agents, Jonathan Feinsod and Neil Schwartz said in a statement. "Darrelle will not be in camp."

Still, the prevailing thought among the players is Revis will eventually make his way back into the fold. One of his fellow cornerbacks who stands to get a few more reps because of Revis' absence strongly hinted that will be the case.

"Darrelle is going to be here," Dwight Lowery said. "He's going to play. It's just a matter of when. ... I know what's going on. Just put it that way." 

In the meantime, he'll be fined $16,532 per day.
