Darrelle Revis could miss up to 2 weeks after an MRI Monday revealed the Jets cornerback has a strained left hamstring. Revis said doctors did not disclose the grade level of the strain.

His status for Sunday’s game against Miami still is in doubt.

“It’s a little sore, but we’re just going about it day-by-day and taking our time,” he said in the Jets’ locker room this afternoon. “It’s not pulled or anything, it’s just a strain. You gotta rest it. It takes time with a strained hamstring. …It could take 1-2 weeks or it could take a week. It depends on how my body recovers.”

Revis exited Sunday’s game against New England after trying to make up ground on wide receiver Randy Moss’ 34-yard touchdown catch with a minute left to go until halftime. The Jets’ training staff worked on the cornerback’s tight hamstring on the sideline after the Patriots’ score before Revis headed into the locker before the first half ended. He did not return.

Revis was limited in practice earlier in the week after feeling tightness in the hamstring. He received massages and acupuncture as part of his treatment and said he felt good before and during last night’s game. He told reporters he has no regrets about playing or holding out for 36 days.

“Anybody can get hurt at any time,” said Revis said. “I can break a leg walking, I can twist and ankle walking. You just don’t know about injuries. It happened earlier in the week in practice and we tried to take care of it as much as we can. Nobody knew I was going to pull it in the game. And it happened. I felt good on Sunday. I felt 100 percent. We did all we had to do leading up to the game. Before the game they asked me was I ready to go and I said yeah.”

He added that he pulled his hamstring during training camp last year and was forced to miss two preseason games. This injury, though, is not as severe he said.

With the Jets set to face the Dolphins this weekend, receiver Brandon Marshall was expected to be Revis’ prime responsibility. However, the cornerback said he won’t push his recovery.

“Right now it’s about getting back to 100 percent,” he said. “That’s the main goal. I’m not going to touch the field unless I’m 100 percent. …If I can play Sunday, I will be out there on Sunday. If I’m doubtful, I’m doubtful, if I can’t, I won’t be out there.”

But Revis also said that even if he’s unable to practice all week, he would play if he feels 100 percent.
