FLORHAM PARK, N.J. - Darrelle Revis said he's heard nothing new on a new contract.
"I haven't looked at it at all," Revis said Thursday after practice. He said his agent, Neil Schwartz, had an offer from the Jets but that Revis had not been apprised of it. He has been attending the Jets' OTAs but made a point to say his presence is not required.
"I don't have to be here, but I'm here," he said. "We're just trying to do this the right way so there's no negativity in this."
Revis is in the final year of his rookie deal, which went from six years to four after he met playing-time escalators. But the Jets can buy back the final two years for $20 million; Revis said last week he and the Jets agreed he should be the league's highest-paid cornerback.
The Raiders' Nnamdi Asomugha makes slightly more than $15 million. Revis' salary for 2010 will be $1 million.
Revis held out of training camp for three weeks as a rookie, and he did not rule out taking action this summer if things aren't worked out to his satisfaction. "When that presents itself, I'll have to figure out what's best for me and my family," he said.
LT getting settled in
Bart Scott said he's been most impressed by LaDainian Tomlinson at OTAs. Perhaps his reputation and stature have his new teammates a bit in awe, but Tomlinson thought he'd changed the minds of some players who thought he might be finished.
"These are guys who really didn't know me or know what I was going to bring to this team," he said. "I think it changes a lot of guys' perception of what they thought before I came."
Quarterback sneak
Mark Sanchez wasn't supposed to take any snaps in 11-on-11 drills, but he "snuck" out to the huddle for one in a first-and-goal Thursday. It was his first snap in a drill this spring, and the last for a little while.
"We were like, 'What's he doing out there?' " Rex Ryan said. "But it was a handoff, so we were like, 'OK. Hand it off and get out of there.' "
Ryan said Sanchez is ahead of schedule in his recovery from knee surgery.
Kellen Clemens took the first-team snaps Thursday.
Magic moment
Ryan said he, Jets owner Woody Johnson and GM Mike Tannenbaum took NBA Hall of Famer Magic Johnson to dinner in New York City recently.
"You're going to get new players each year, they're going to have to live up to those standards and buy into them - and if they don't, you have to move on,'' Ryan said. "And that's something I've always been a big believer in. When you hear a guy like Magic Johnson talk about it and the success he had, I feel confident we're on the right path."
Stitser waived
Clint Stitser missed three more field-goal tries and was waived. Before the move was announced, Ryan said he wants to find someone to compete with Nick Folk.
