Revis will talk to Jets "sooner or later"

At some point, the two sides must come to an arrangement of some sort.

That was Darrelle Revis' take Tuesday, regarding his current contract situation with the Jets. 

The star cornerback said there was no question whether he would show up for the team's three-day minicamp, but he still couldn't say if he'll in Cortland next month.

"Sooner or later it has to," Revis said, when asked if a sitdown between him, Rex Ryan, genernal manager Mike Tannenbaum and team owner Woody Johnson has been scheduled. "I got two more years left so we'll see and we'll go from there. Whatever is best for me and the organization we'll get through it."

As of now, there's no news regarding a new deal, he said.

"I haven't talked to my agents so I can't really speak on that right now," he said after Tuesday's practice.

A second holdout could be on the horizon for Revis, who also reported late to camp his rookie year due to a contract dispute. (Technically, a player can't "holdout" if he's not under contract.) But Revis said he isn't worried about how the public will view his second attempt to get himself more guaranteed money.

"This is my situation and my career and that's how you have to look at it," he said. "It's not like I don't love the New York Jets fans."

Revis said he's grown from each of his recent contract issues with the team. But until then....

"When me, Mike, Rex and Mr. Johnson sit down at that point we'll discuss it and see what the future is for me," he said. "I think that's the best way I can sum it up."
