Rex Ryan has made it clear he doesn’t like dressing more than two quarterbacks. But the Jets coach made an exception in the team’s final home game.

Mark Sanchez and Tim Tebow are both active for Sunday’s 1 p.m. game against the San Diego Chargers (5-9). Former third-stringer Greg McElroy will make his first NFL start.

It seemed a foregone conclusion Ryan would name Sanchez the backup, considering Tebow hasn’t been used consistently or in any creative way all season.

But Sanchez wasn’t spotted during pregame warm-ups while McElroy threw passes on the field and Tebow jogged around and chatted with fans. There was pre-game speculation that Tebow would be a healthy scratch, but that wasn’t the case.

Dressing all three quarterbacks means Ryan doesn’t have to get into the No. 2 and 3 designations with Sanchez and Tebow. Case in point: the Jets' flipcard lists "Mark Sanchez/Tim Tebow" as the No. 2 QB for the game. Of course, the coach would be forced to pick between the two if (heaven forbid) McElroy were to get injured.

Here are the Jets inactives: TE Dustin Keller, WR Mardy Gilyard, CBs Aaron Berry and Donnie Fletcher, LB Ricky Sapp, NT Damon Harrison and G Caleb Schlauderaff.

Backup tight end Jeff Cumberland will again start in Keller's place.

The following Chargers will not play: RB Edwin Baker, LBs Jonas Mouton and Demorrio Williams, OL Stephen Schilling, WR Mike WIllie, TE Ladarius Green and DT Aubrayo Franklin.
