The Jets promoted rookie draft pick Jordan White from the practice squad, according to a source.

In recent days, the team waived rookie linebacker Marcus Dowtin and receiver Jason Hill -- leaving just 50 players on the active roster.

White, who was the Jets' final pick in the seventh road of April's draft, was re-signed to the practice squad on Oct. 2 -- the same day the Jets signed free-agent FB Lex Hilliard and waived wide receiver Patrick Turner.
