FLORHAM PARK, N.J. - Rex Ryan already has made the call: Revis Island won't be open for business Sunday night.

"He's itching to get back," Ryan said Wednesday of All-Pro cornerback Darrelle Revis. "But it's too risky of a proposition to put him out there, and that's what we decided."

Revis, who's getting about 12 hours treatment daily on his tight left hamstring, has been ruled out for the game against the Dolphins, as has linebacker Calvin Pace (foot). It'll be the first game Revis has missed at any level, but he said he's not frustrated.

"I'm relaxed," he said. "I'm dealing with the hamstring thing now. There's no point of getting emotional. Just root my team on and watch them win."

Revis isn't sure when he'll be cleared to practice again. He said he's improving daily, but thinks the Jets are doing the smart thing by sitting him.

"We know it's early in the season," Revis said. "So we are just taking this time to make sure we get my hamstring to 100 percent to where it doesn't linger anymore."

Taylor's homecoming

Don't expect Jason Taylor to be angry during his highly anticipated return to Miami Sunday night. At least that's what he says.

"No, what can I be bitter at?" said Taylor, whose left elbow injury limited him in practice. "I'm playing against a team I played for for a long time. I have a lot of friends on that team still, guys that mean a lot to me and I'm very close to. At the end of the day, they're not going to take it easy on me and I'm going to try and make as many plays as I can. There's no bitterness.

"I get a chance to play the greatest game on the planet and have the best job in the world. To be picked up here, wanted here and sought after by Rex and Mike [Tannenbaum] was such an honor. It's another great day in the NFL. What can you complain about?"
