The Jets have just announced they've extended the contracts of two people in particular, but probably not the ones anyone expected.
Rex Ryan, who initially signed a four-year contract worth about $12 million two Januarys ago, and GM Mike Tannenbaum have each been extended through 2014. Ryan got a two-year extension while Tannenbaum was handed a five-year extension.
Ryan and Tannenbaum seem to work well together, and now the duo are signed to be joined at the hip for at least five more seasons.

Still awaiting word on when first-rounder Kyle Wilson will come to terms, which could be as early as this afternoon.
A source told me it "definitely" would happen by Sunday when the team reports to Cortland for training camp. That falls in line with what another source recently told me, explaining the cornerback's deal would be done in time for him to be present at the first day of camp.
