ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — Sammy Watkins is active after all.

The Bills’ star receiver was questionable for Thursday night’s game against the Jets because of lingering pain and soreness in his surgically repaired left foot.

But, as he promised this week, Watkins is playing.

His presence on the field will be a boost for the Bills’ struggling offense. But it remains to be seen how effective he’ll be tonight against Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis.

Revis limited the speedy receiver to three catches on seven targets for 14 yards (and two drops) in their first meeting of 2015. But in the season finale, Watkins had 136 receiving yards on 11 catches; six of those passes, totaling 96 yards, were caught with Revis covering him.

So what type of challenges does Watkins present for the Jets’ secondary this time around?

“Same problem we had last year,” coach Todd Bowles said this week. “He’s fast, he’s good and he’s similar to [Bengals wideout] A.J. Green, and we have our work cut out for us.”
