Citing past history, Rex Ryan highlighted several instances in which his second-year quarterback has rebounded from poor performances and gone on to lead his team to victory. That’s why Sanchez’s latest struggle – a three-interception night that helped deliver a 45-3 Patriots’ victory on national TV – doesn’t faze the Jets head coach.

“There are a lot of things that go into those situations,” Ryan said of Sanchez’s interceptions. “It’s hard. We’re trying to take shots and they have three DBs 20 yards down the field. It’s hard to throw in those situations without turning the ball over.

“He’s an outstanding quarterback. I think if you look at how he responds to bad games, the first one that comes to mind -- not that I’m really aware of these things -- is the Buffalo game last year (when Sanchez threw three interceptions). He goes out against Oakland (the next week) and had a 107 quarterback rating. This year we played Baltimore…He comes out and has a 124.3 rating against New England in a victory. We played Green Bay, we get shut out. He responds by throwing for 336 yards against Detroit. He’s a guy that traditionally has responded well. I hope that’s what happens this week.”

Sanchez, who was visibly upset in the visitor's locker room after Monday night’s loss, said he already has pushed the Patriots out of his mind and is focused on the Miami Dolphins, whom the Jets defeated 31-23 in Week 3.

“It’s just something to learn from and it’s a great experience for me to be able to watch that film with (Mark) Brunell, with the other quarterbacks we have, with coach (Brian) Schottenheimer and then come back out on the field today and know it’s Wednesday,” said Sanchez, who completed just 17-of-33 passes and threw for 162 less yards than Tom Brady.

“It’s over 48 hours from the game. It’s so long gone. I’m so focused on Miami. One of these days, after the season hopefully, we’ll take it deep in the playoffs, win a championship and we’ll look back and say: ‘That was really too bad,’ but that’s it.

When asked about his ability to play well after a loss, the quarterback said: “It’s just a matter of wanting to play better for the guys around you and get the best out of everybody around you. It’s a collective effort. It was a collective loss last week and we’re looking for a collective win. We’ll get it as a group. We’ll do it right. Everybody will bounce back, not just me. So I’m excited about that.”
