The Jets' offense isn't producing, which has led to criticism of coordinator Brian Schottenheimer. The Jets went three-and-out seven times against the Patriots. They are ranked 28th on offense, and their rushing attack is 30th. Rex Ryan and the players have voiced support for Schottenheimer, and Mark Sanchez backed him yesterday on "The Michael Kay Show" on 1050 ESPN. "I'm totally behind Brian," Sanchez said, "and I know the coaches and the players are as well."
Will Mase be a factor?
Derrick Mason was in for only six snaps against the Patriots, while rookie receiver Jeremy Kerley played 18 and caught his first TD pass. Rex Ryan said Mason's diminished action wasn't because of critical comments.
"Let's face it, I thought Derrick would catch 80-90 balls," Ryan said. "That hasn't happened. I think we were going to be more three-wides, but in that particular plan we tightened it up a little bit. Again, each week is going to be different."
Matt who?
On Monday, the Dolphins will start Matt Moore, who replaced Chad Henne (injured reserve) when he got hurt Oct. 2. It will be the former Panther's first start since last season.
