FLORHAM PARK, N.J. - Bart Scott laughed at the mere thought of a rift between the Jets' offensive and defensive players, something that was suggested after their 10-6 loss to the Dolphins on Sunday.

"Man, c'mon. I played with Kyle Boller for six years," the linebacker said Wednesday, referring to his quarterback in Baltimore. "You think I haven't seen anything like this? C'mon, man. I mean, Kyle's my boy, but I've been on teams that have struggled offensively.

"It's not my job to farm their land. It's my job to not put points on the board, no matter what."

The defense responded well Sunday after yielding 45 points to the Patriots six days earlier, holding Miami to 131 total yards. They completely shut down the Dolphins' run game and sacked quarterback Chad Henne five times and stripped the football from him twice. They also forced Miami into seven three-and-outs in the second half, when they held the Dolphins to one first down.

The offense, of course, did nothing and were the ones left answering questions Sunday while most of the defensive players had bolted out of the postgame locker room. But, like Scott, Rex Ryan made it clear there's no finger-pointing going on.

"It's not ever going to be put on one side of the ball or the other side of the ball," he said. "If you're satisfied that, 'Hey, well our side did great,' you're missing the point. The point is we win and lose games together. It's our collective effort. Sometimes we may score 35 points and the defense holds them to 34, I'd be happy. It wouldn't be great, but I'd be happy.

"If we have to shut a team out, 2-0, then so be it."

Revis homecoming

Darrelle Revis, a Pittsburgh native who played his college ball at Pitt, purchased 30 tickets for Sunday's game against the Steelers. It's his first trip as a pro to Heinz Field, and he can't wait.

"I'm from that area," Revis said. "And it's going to be good for my family and a couple of friends to come see me play."
