Looks like Joey Clinkscales is headed to Oakland after all.

Though the Jets vice president told reporters at the conclusion of last month's NFL draft that he expects to remain with the team, Clinkscales will in fact join the Raiders staff, a source confirmed.

The Jets vice president of college scouting is leaving the Jets to take a "prominent front-office position" with Oakland, ESPN's Adam Schefter tweeted late Tuesday night.

Rumors of Clinkscales' imminent departure have been swirling for weeks, but it was unclear if the Raiders still would go after Clinkscales after hiring former Green Bay Packers assistant college director Shaun Herock for their VP of college scouting position -- the same job Clinkscales currently holds with the Jets.

But it appears the Raiders were looking to add Clinkscales all along.

The move by no means is surprising, giving his relationship with Oakland general manager Reggie McKenzie. But shortly after the draft wrapped up, Clinkscales denied reports that he was going anywhere.

"I expect to be here," he told reporters during the Jets post-draft presser. "My job is a talent evaluator and I understand where the connection comes in to be honest with you. Reggie and I haved played high school and college ball (at Tennessee) together. We were also in each other's weddings and I've known Reggie forever.

"But this is where I started and this is where I plan on being."

The Raiders parted ways with longtime front office exec Jon Kingdon -- who had worked for the team for 33 years -- and replaced him with Herock.
