The Jets plan to induct four members into their ring of honor at MetLife Stadium when they host the Dolphins Oct. 17, according to a source.
Freeman McNeil, Al Toon, Larry Grantham and Gerry Philbin will join the Jets' inaugural class that included Joe Namath, Curtis Martin, Winston Hill, Weeb Ewbank, Joe Klecko and Don Maynard.
McNeil led the NFL in rushing in 1982 and ran for 202 yards that season in a 44-17 playoff win over the Bengals. Toon, a three-time Pro Bowl wide receiver, spent his eight-year career with the Jets. His best statistical season was 1988, when his 93 receptions led the league. He was an All-Pro in 1986.
Grantham, a 210-pound linebacker, and Philbin, a pass-rushing end, were key members of the defense that shut down the Colts in Super Bowl III, in which the Jets won their only championship.
