Source on Revis: 'He's fine'
The sight of Darrelle Revis on the sideline, surrounded by doctors, was a nerve-racking moment for Jets fans.
But a source told Newsday after Sunday's 48-28 win over the Bills said the All Pro cornerback is "fine."
Revis, who helped jumpstart the Jets' offense thanks to his interception on the Bills' first drive of the game, had taken an inadvertent kick to the head (from Bart Scott) in the fourth quarter while he was sprawled out on the ground. The star cornerback was slow to get up and was attended to on the sideline.
The Jets did not give a post-game medical update, and per NFL protocol, Revis was not made available to the media afterward.
Coach Rex Ryan said the cornerback looked fine after the game but cautioned: "It's too early to tell." Fellow cornerback Antonio Cromartie, however, was more optimistic.
"We're not worried about it," Cromartie, one of three defensive backs to nab interceptions against Ryan Fitzpatrick, said of Revis' injury. "He'll be back next week."
