Stevan Ridley's tour of the AFC East continues.

The free-agent running back from the Patriots plans to visit with the Jets on Wednesday, a source confirmed to Newsday. He's expected to arrive later Wednesday and stay in the Florham Park area until Thursday.

Ridley's trip to New Jersey comes a day after his reported visit to the Miami Dolphins.

The Jets currently have their No. 1 running back from last season, Chris Ivory, and they were determined to re-sign Bilal Powell this offseason. But the team still needs a back with some speed to complement Ivory's punishing style and Powell's versatility.

Ridley, 26, played in six games last season for New England before tearing the ACL and MCL in his right knee. He rushed for 340 yards and two touchdowns on 94 carries. He also caught four passes for 20 yards in those six games. But while he's known for being a strong, between-the-tackles runner, he's also had trouble securing the football.
