Steve McLendon visiting Jets Monday, source says
Former Steelers nose tackle Steve McLendon is visiting the Jets Monday, a source confirmed to Newsday.
Filling the position became an immediate priority when Jets free agent Damon “Snacks” Harrison signed a five-year, $46.25-million deal with the Giants last week.
McLendon, who went undrafted in 2009, is solid against the run, particularly in goal-line situations.
The 30-year-old has spent his entire six-year career in Pittsburgh. Last season was the first time McLendon played all 16 games since 2012.
