Tim Tebow active vs. Jaguars; Rex Ryan sits Greg McElroy

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Rex Ryan floated the possibility of suiting up all three of his quarterbacks. But in the end, the Jets coach chose to activate Tim Tebow -- but deactive third-stringer Greg McElroy, who led the Jets to a comeback win over Arizona last week after Sanchez was benched.
The week began with Ryan delibertating between starting Mark Sanchez or McElroy for today's game against the Jaguars. But on Wednesday, Ryan chose to stick with his season-long starter.
Tebow -- a native of Jacksonville -- was listed as questionable on Friday's injury report. He has not played since Nov. 18 against the St. Louis Rams because of two fractured ribs and was inactive against the Cardinals.
His status for today's game came as a surprise, considering Tebow was limited in practice all week. The backup quarterback also did not partake in his usual pre-game activities. Before every game, offensive coordinator Tony Sparano and quarterbacks coach Matt Cavanaugh go over the game plan with their three quarterbacks on the field. Tebow, however, was conspicuously absent.
In anticipation of Tebow's homecoming, the Jaguars sold tickets for the typically-covered upper-deck seats at EverBank Field.

The Jets also will be without TE Dustin Keller, who officially was ruled out Saturday, along with backup NT Damon Harrison. WRs Clyde Gates (concussion) and Jordan White, LB Ricky Sapp (ankle) and OL Caleb Schlauderaff also are inactive.
WR Stephen Hill (knee), who was listed as questionable, will play.
