After having Thursday  evening off for Movie Night, the Jets are back at it Friday morning, currently conducting the first of their two practices.

First one got underway at 8:20 a.m. and the second begins at 4:15 p.m., though it's of the special teams variety.

Quick bit of news as C Nick Mangold is back practicing this morning. RT Damien Woody is getting a day off.

The last of the Jets' true two-a-days before their first preseason game against the Giants comes Saturday, with practices slated for 8:20 a.m. and 4:20 p.m.

Time for the links:

-- Asked Santonio Holmes about Braylon Edwards, and he believes Edwards should be one of the league's elite receivers yearly. Wide receivers coach Henry Ellard agrees.

-- Rex Ryan 'apologized' for his profanity-filled scenes in HBO's "Hard Knocks." But if you look closely, he really didn't.

-- Mangold sat out practice a day after getting hit in the temple, but should be fine.

--  Hear that silence?
