Woody's status for Thanksgiving game uncertain

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. - Damien Woody's status for Thursday's Thanksgiving night matchup with the Bengals remains up in the air.

The Jets right tackle was scheduled to have an MRI on his right knee Monday, the day after injuring his MCL in the first quarter against the Texans. Woody's right leg got rolled up on by Houston's Mark Anderson while engaged in a block and didn't return.

"I'm getting treatment like crazy to try to get out there on Thursday," Woody wrote on his Twitter page Monday.

Rex Ryan isn't sure Woody will play, given the four-day turnaround.

"If he's ready to go, he'll be in there," Ryan said. "If not, we feel good about Wayne Hunter. We left Wayne isolated a lot of times on that [Mario] Williams guy. There's a reason that he [Wiliams] was the first pick in the draft. He's pretty good. We have a lot of confidence in Wayne Hunter. We're fortunate."

Familiarity factor

The Jets met the Bengals twice last season and beat them both times, including that AFC wild card win in Cincinnati. But Darrelle Revis said there's not a whole lot the Jets' defense can take from those two meetings given the switches Cincinnati made with the addition of Terrell Owens.

"They're a different offense this year," Revis said. "Since they got Terrell Owens, they've changed up a bunch of things in their passing game."
