Olivia Galati pitched a three-hitter with eight strikeouts and no earned runs to lead the Hofstra softball team to a 2-1 win over Louisville Saturday. The Pride (10-1) is off to their best ever start through 11 games. Hofstra took a 2-0 lead in the first inning on RBI singles by Lauren Valentino and Jess Hirschbuhl. Kristen Wadwell struck out six for No. 18 Louisville (15-6).

Post splits doubleheader.Kendall Bright hit a walkoff home run in the ninth inning of game one to lift C.W. Post over Lock Haven, 2-1. Lock Haven had taken a 1-0 lead on Brittany Pataky's RBI single in the top of the ninth, but the Pioneers tied it on Kristen Morcone's sacrifice fly. Becca Bailey allowed seven hits and struck out seven in 82/3 innings for Post, which dropped game two to Indiana University of Pennsylvania, 8-7. The Pioneers had rallied from a 7-1 deficit to tied the score on Christie Softy's two-run hom- er in the top of the seventh inning. But Indiana's Kristen Tunno (two RBIs, two runs) scored the winner on Mich- elle Bivona's single. Softy was 2-for-4 with five RBIs and Rogin Hardy scored two runs for Post (5-3).

BASEBALLLiberty 14, St. John's 9:Jimmy Parque was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and Joe Panik had two RBIs and two runs for St. John's (7-5). The Redmen used an eight-run seventh to take a 9-5 lead, but Liberty rallied in the bottom of the frame. The Flames' Trey Wimmer hit a three-run homer for the final margin. Wimmer was 3-for-5 with five RBIs to lead Liberty (11-1).
