Green-Ellis emerging in Patriots backfield
If you listen to the RotoExperts show on Sirius/XM, myself and co-host Scott Engel have been touting Patriots running back BenJarvus Green-Ellis as someone to add off the waiver wire the past two weeks. The first sign was when the Patriots traded Laurence Maroney to the Broncos. That sent him up the depth chart. Then Kevin Faulk suffered a season-ending injury and Fred Taylor sustained a toe injury.
Also, keep in mind Taylor is 34 years old and it's unrealistic to think he stays healthy the entire season. It's always dicey relying on a Patriots running back since they pass often and divide the workload among several running backs, but Green-Ellis got 10 carries last week and had 16 for 98 yards and a TD against the Bills today. He's probably available in a lot of leagues and he should be added for depth and he could emerge as a flex play if the carries continue.
